Nepal is
rich in diversified biological resources, geographical and
climatic variations, socio-cultural and natural entities.
Biodiversity in Nepal is intimately related to subsistence
livelihood and economical development. It also relates to
agricultural productivity, human health, nutrition, indigenous
knowledge, building materials, water resources, aesthetic and
cultural system of the society.
The
organizational belief is that the biological resources play
significant roles in environment conservation, especially in
the sector
of livelihood and economic development. But due to vigorous
human activities, some of these biological species have become
endangered and reached in the verge of extinction. |
